Hakea archaeoides is a large shrub or small tree endemic to forest areas on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia.

The plant grows up to 7 metres in height and 4 metres in width at maturity. It has red and greenish-yellow flowers in pendant axillary clusters that appear from spring to early summer, bearing fruit in woody seed capsules that are approximately 2 to 3 cm long. The leaves are up to 25 cm long and 1 to 3 cm wide.
